Engineers Day 2016 Engineers' Day is observed in India coinciding with the birth anniversary of great Indian engineer Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya (Vishweshwaraya), who was born on Sept. 15, 1860. The theme of the 49th Engineers' Day is "Skill Development for Young Engineers to Reform the Core Sector: Vision 2025." Visvesvaraya, the Diwan of Mysore, who was also a scholar and statesman, received the Indian Republic's highest honour, the Bharat Ratna, in 1955.
